C++ (pronounced “see plus plus”, IPA: [siː plʌs plʌs]) is a general-purpose, high-level programming language with low-level facilities. It is a statically typed free-form multi-paradigm language supporting procedural programming, data abstraction, object-oriented programming, generic programming and RTTI. Since the 1990s, C++ has been one of the most popular commercial programming languages.
C++ continues to evolve to meet future requirements. One group in particular, Boost.org, works to make the most of C++ in its current form and advises the C++ standards committee as to which features work well and which need improving. Current work indicates that C++ will capitalize on its multi-paradigm nature more and more. The work at Boost, for example, is greatly expanding C++’s functional and metaprogramming capabilities. A new version of the C++ standard is currently being worked on, entitled C++0x (denoting the fact it is expected to be released before 2010) which will include a number of new features.
Therefore learning c++ will help you certainly in future. Learn the basics of C++ in 21 days! Great guide for beginners. Remember, this is just an overview, fully mastering any program languages takes many years. But this is the guide to get you started!

First let me clarify that this is not going to be a detailed study of shell scripting, but as the name of the post indicates, it will be a quick reference to the syntax used in scripting for the bash shell. So if you are expecting the former, then you should buy yourself a good book on shell scripting . 😉

A review of the 10 major Linux distributions ever made;Debian,Slackware,Fedora,Mandriva,Suse,Ubuntu,Knoppix,Gentoo,Mepis & Xandros
The Microsoft Windows operating system is developed and released by a single company. It comes with a minimal set of applications (a calculator, a few games, some networking tools, an Internet browser.. etc). Other software can be obtained by users from various sources and installed on the operating system.
GNU/Linux is different. A GNU/Linux operating system is made of a Linux kernel, a set of GNU tools, an installation program, a package management system and a lot of other software components. Because all these components are free to use and to distribute, anybody can assemble and configure them according to their needs and create their very own GNU/Linux operating system. Since 1993, a lot of people and companies have been distributing Linux operating systems. These distributions made it easy for people to get and to install a working GNU/Linux system on their personal computer.
